This means that your username and/or password
is incorrect. Usually, if the username or
password is rejected, Outlook Express will pop
up a box asking you for your username and password;
make sure they appear correctly.

it is still not working, you need to completely
erase the username/password from the boxes and
retype them.

error message is caused by the fact that you have
set an anti virus program, in this case Norton
AntiVirus, to scan all emails automatically.Changing
the settings within Outlook Express will not solve
the issue. You need to go to Norton and change
the settings there.

Solutions:

The usual cause of this problem is an Outbox.dbx
file which has become corrupted.
1. Click Tools
2. then Accounts
3. Click the Mail
tab
4. Click a duplicate mail account, and then click
Remove . Keep doing
this until all duplicated
have been removed.
5. Click Close

Still
having problems with this error message? Try renaming
the Outbox.dbx file, although this will permanently
delete any messages still in the outbox.
1. Close Outlook Express.
2. Right-click the Start button on your PC's desktop
3. click Find or Search
4. Search for the Outbox.dbx file
5. Right-click the file, click Delete, and then
click Yes
6. Start Outlook Express, and then try again
